Provo officials worried over Broadweave/iProvo deal

Tools

Provo officials are battling a bad case of "seller's remorse, worried iProvo purchaser Broadweave has more on its hands than it can handle, and concerned the company may not be up to the task.

"Broadweave has some credibility issues to overcome," said Municipal Councilman Steve Turley, pointing out that the city has struggled in the past with companies that have failed and left the city hanging. Broadweave has leaped from obscurity, increasing its customer base 10-fold through the deal. Its recent buy of Veracity Communications has placed it even more firmly in the spotlight.

"What we have is a scalable platform, an all-star financial team and great technology," said Stave Christensen, one of its principals. Pooh-poohing the concerns.
