Qwest issues Q1 revenue warning

About three weeks ahead of reporting first-quarter earnings results, Qwest Communications warned that it will not meet revenue expectations for the quarter. The previous expectation was for $3.24 billion in revenue, and while it is not clear how wide the miss will be, operating income is still expected to be in line with expectations. The company is set to report first-quarter earnings April 29.

Qwest recently was rumored to be considering the sale of its long-haul network in order to raise cash to pay down debt. In recent quarters, the company had seemed to be making progress financially.
