R&M spotlights CEE for 2008; looks to 2018

Central Eastern Europe-- Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia--is seeing strong growth in broadband deployment that's spurring on a burgeoning Internet economy and pushing IPTV uptake in all five countries, says a new report from business intel firm Research and Markets.

EU-mandated competition and regulation is opening up the markets, decreasing prices and leading to the introduction of new services by competing operators and incumbents alike. The CEE region is diverse in population and lacking in economic parity, so the report helps provide a guide to the different nature of each country's telecom landscape.
