Report: Appeal likely in video franchise ruling

The Federal Communications Commission recently won a key court victory that saw its video franchise rules for municipal franchising processes upheld, but the groups that had filed the suit in protest of those rules is indicating that the fight is not over. An official with the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors, one of the groups that had sued the FCC over its requirements, such as a mandate for municipal governments to rule on franchise applications within 90 days, said it expects an appeal or "additional activity" in the case, according to a report at Multichannel News.

NATOA and other involved in the suit can appeal to three-judge panel to rehear the case, ask for a review by the court that issued the recent decision, or file an appeal with U.S. Supreme Court.
