Retransmission consent fees will jump 130% by 2019, says Kagan

Pay-TV providers looking to curb their content costs are in for a rude awakening. According to a new SNL Kagan report, distributors will have to collectively pay $7.6 billion to broadcasters to package their stations in basic cable programming packages. As reported in FierceCable, the amount of fees paid to ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and other station groups will jump by 130 percent vs. the $3.3 billion broadcasters are forecast to receive in 2013. Read more
