Salmon leaves COMPTEL for lobbying job

Tools

Just days after the COMPTEL trade group's annual spring conference, Matthew Salmon has resigned as president of the competitive carrier association to join Arizona-based lobbying firm Policy Impact. COMPTEL CEO Jerry James will take over Salmon's day-to-day responsibilities, according to a press release.

The roles of president and CEO at COMPTEL historically had been held by a single person until James became CEO and Salmon became president in December 2007. Some attendees of the recent Spring 2009 COMPTEL Plus event reported that Salmon, a former Republican Congressman from Arizona, had been an effective and enthusiastic president for the association.
