Savvis taps Ash Mathur to oversee its Canadian business
Savvis, CenturyLink's (NYSE: CTL) data center and cloud services subsidiary, has tapped IT and telecom veteran Ash Mathur as its new regional VP and country manager for its Canadian operations.
From his office in Toronto, Mathur will focus on growing Savvis' colocation, managed hosting and cloud services throughout the country.
He comes to Savvis with plenty of experience in serving Canada's business market.
Mathur previously was an executive consultant and adviser, focusing on revenue growth, business planning, investment preparation and global expansion for early-stage software and IT service companies.
Similar to Asia Pacific and Europe, Canada is a big international expansion market for Savvis. The service provider currently operates three data centers in the country, with sites in Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver.
Savvis' cloud and data center services continue to be a large revenue growth driver for CenturyLink both domestically and internationally. During the second quarter, colocation revenues rose 2.1 percent to $145 million, while managed hosting revenues rose 21 percent to $134 million.
