Sharedband still building its bonding case

Last week's news about broadband bonding technology from Mushroom Networks probably got a lot of people in the industry wondering what was going on with Sharedband, the U.K. broadband bonding company that set up shop in Seattle last year and claimed to be ready to roll out to customers early this year. Well, Telephony talked to Sharedband, and the company did in fact run into delays with its U.S. launch, but is running full-steam ahead recruiting customers now. It has one customer in Everett, Wash., through an ISP partner, and also is busily working to sign up more service-provider partners to sell its offering.

Still, Mushroom Networks' product release schedule and promotional urgency so far seems to be mushrooming faster than Sharedband's roll out. Sharedband's solution also is rooted in server bank capabilities, whereas Mushroom Networks does all its bonding through CPE.
