Sidera to provide low latency services to DuPont Fabros Technology's data center

Sidera Networks on Wednesday won a deal to provide its "ultra-low latency" service between DuPont Fabros Technology's (DFT) NJ1 data center located in Piscataway, N.J. and 2905 Diehl Road in Aurora, Ill., a key financial trading route.

Although a key focus of the network connection is on targeting area financial service organizations, the new connection is relevant to other Sidera and DuPont customers in, for example, the pharmaceutical industry segment that require low latency networking for their applications.

Even though this route may be new, Sidera and DFT are hardly strangers. Sidera already has a connection to DFT's ACC6 data center in Ashburn, Va. This route provides a termination point for Sidera's Transcom Route, a diverse route from the I-95 corridor with an option to bypass downtown Washington, D.C.

Through this relationship, DFT's tenants can access this set of fiber paths and connectivity between Aurora, Ill., Piscataway, N.J. and Ashburn, Va. for financial services applications, back-up and recovery and cloud services using Sidera's network.

The low latency network may be crowded with various players, but Sidera has been slowly making a name for itself by continually enhancing its Xtreme Ultra-Low Latency network solutions between major financial hubs throughout the New York metro market, Chicago, Aurora, Ill., Toronto and London.
