SkyWi selling VoIP ops to Telekenex

SkyWi intends to sell its VoIP operations to California-based Telekenix, the latest chess move in the Qwest/SkyWi saga.

The sale plan goes before the New Mexico PRC today. SkyWi says the object of this transaction is to take its customers out of the middle of its lawsuit/feud with Qwest over back billing. Qwest has twice - once intentionally, once accidentally - turned off service to SkyWi, interrupting service to thousands of customers. 

If the PRC supports the plan, customers will be transitioned to Telekenex's network and system - without further disconnections, SkyWi hopes. SkyWi says a seamless transition is planned and will provide customers with more services over a larger national footprint without any current loss of functional capability.

Telekenix is a registered CLEC in California and has a facilities-based network serving more than 30,000 small and medium-sized business users across most of the U.S., including SkyWi's/One Connect IP's markets in New Mexico, Utah and Idaho.
