SLIDESHOW: Physical Testing at ADTRAN
We often take the process that goes into making a router, switch, IP PBX or other rack-mountable device for granted.
Down in Huntsville, ADTRAN uses a series of tools and practices to test prototypes and examine returned products to determine the root cause of a failure. The information is applied to refine prototypes of new products and influences the design of future products.
Ovens, thermal imaging cameras, and even microscopes are part of the process to make devices more physically reliable.
A look at the ADTRAN physical testing labs beings here.
If you missed it, part one of the Huntsville on-site visit is here, and includes a walk through ADTRAN's low-production rate assembly lines.
