Tools

Telekom Slovenije, the incumbent telco in Slovenia, has moved to buy a 75% stake in an Albanian ISP for about $5.7 million. Meanwhile, the Slovenian government said that at least 12 companies have submitted proposals to buy a 49% stake in Telekom Slovenije that the government has agreed to sell (The government will continue to hold a 25% stake post-sale).

Telekom Slovenije sees an opportunity to expand elsewhere and upgrade a customer base mostly unitiated in the ways of broadband, at the same time its position in its home market could be shifting.
