S&P upgrades rating on Windstream outlook

Standard & Poor's Rating Service has raised its ratings outlook on Windstream Communications to "stable" from "negative," for what S&P says is the independent telco's ability to mitigate the effect of voice revenue losses by offsetting them with data and Internet revenue gains. Windstream should share its secret with the rest of the telecom industry. Most telcos are trying everything they can think of to offset declining voice circuits and revenue, but these efforts remains works in progress. I don't know that any of them have gotten the vote of confidence from industry trackers that S&P is giving Windstream.
