SPOTLIGHT: Cable guys, Verizon battle at FCC

Getting involved in a possible WiMAX joint venture would give Comcast and Time Warner Cable another way of striking back against what they say are the unfair competitive practices of Verizon Communications. Comcast, Time Warner and fellow cable TV firm Bright House have filed a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission alleging that Verizon uses information it gains from its wholesale division to keep consumers from switching their residential voice service to cable TV VoIP offerings.

Meanwhile, Verizon has filed with the FCC complaining that cable TV companies are not being prompt about supporting the process of switching video customers who choose to move over to Verizon's video offering.
