SPOTLIGHT: AT&T aims biggest TV launch at Chicago area
After a long battle to launch U-Verse TV services in the Chicago suburbs, AT&T is now beginning to roll out U-Verse in 175 suburbs in what we Chicago city folk call the collar counties. It's the telco largest TV roll out in the country thus far, and before AT&T gained a statewide franchise last October, the effort was fought by several suburban communities who didn't want their neighborhoods marred by fiber-to-the-node cabinets.
Too bad U-Verse isn't available in the Chicago city limits--I wouldn't mind giving it a try. Oh, well, there's no room out back in the alley for loop gear anyway.

Come on AT&T, you have a lot of pissed off Comcast & RCN customers in the city of Chicago just waiting to give you business.
The city is still reviewing options of putting the boxes outside of buildings in the city or mounting them to the back of buildings like comcast and rcn does. The city seems to be holding this up not AT&T
I hate what Chicago has to offer in terms of TV/internet and have been waiting and waiting for uverse to finally make it within the city limits but still nothing... I moved here two years ago from the suburbs of Kansas City and our little city of 1 million has far more choice than this place!
