Spotlight: AT&T must get Connecticut residents' approval for U-verse boxes

AT&T has been criticized over the deployment of large U-verse gear near the property of potential customers before, and now, the Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control has ruled the telco must get permission from abutting property owners before it installs what are often described as "refrigerator-sized" boxes. AT&T has made much progress in the last year competing with cable TV companies, and during that time, U-verse installations have become quicker and much more widely available than before. But, the company also has been hounded by reports of unsightly boxes and even poor performance. See this story in the Hartford Courant
