Supercuts boosts customer service in NE with Comcast Business services

Comcast Business (NASDAQ: CMCSA) is enabling Supercuts to improve its operational efficiencies and its interaction with customers in 33 locations in southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey with a set of business Internet, voice and video services.

All of these applications are supported by a 50 Mbps connection at each salon.

With this connection, each Supercuts location will be able to connect onsite cameras and provide various guest amenities such as Wi-Fi and HDTV. The franchise is also using Comcast's Business WiFi to provide a private connection for employees and complementary service for guests so stylists and patrons do not share the same broadband connection.

A key element of this deployment is to improve the client experience.

By installing onsite cameras at each site, store managers can watch streaming video in real-time, which Supercuts said "will boost guest satisfaction as district managers adjust staffing levels or plan new salon locations based on sustained demand."

The network service also supports the inherent mobile nature of Supercuts' customer base. The Supercuts Mobile App will be able to interface in real time with the franchise's point of sale (POS) software and allows patrons to check in online, select their stylists and view approximate wait times--either before entering the salon or onsite.

"Our mobile app has been a huge help in streamlining our operations, as our stylists can now stay focused on their guests without needing to check people in or provide wait times over the phone," said Gary Robins, franchisee for 43 Supercuts locations, in a release. "That said, there's nothing worse than if a customer logs in and thinks there's no wait, only to learn upon arrival that the app was not updated in a timely fashion due to the slow DSL connection we had with our previous provider."

While this initial network build targets 33 stores, additional plans to upgrade the remaining 10 storefronts are underway.
