SureWest scales Everest in $173 million buy

SureWest Communications, the Roseville, Calif.-based independent telco that was a telco broadband and video pioneer, announced it is acquiring Kansas City, Mo.-based Everest Broadband for $173 million. The Everest deal should help bring more revenue balance to the combined company.
