Swisscom introduces new enterprise managed service offering

Swisscom's new suite of managed services reflects the idea that traditional telcos need to break out of the mold of being just a communications provider, and become one that can also provide a suite of IT services to enterprise customers.

Its solution combines business customer's growing adoption of managed services with a set of new solutions that combine applications and a network with consulting, planning and operation.

The first element in Swisscom's new movement will combine its new Managed Service offering with its Unified Communications & Collaboration (UCC) applications, secure network (both LAN and WAN), Internet connectivity and traditional telephony service.

Presented as a custom solution that includes a dedicated system for each customer, the service provider will not only oversee necessary planning and operation, but also monitor operation and security of the applications from its operations center. Implemented in collaboration with Microsoft and HP, Swisscom customers will be able to procure the managed service for a fixed price per user and month.
