AT&T awaits spring labor talks

Tools

AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson commented briefly on upcoming labor contract negotiations during the company's fourth-quarter earnings call Wednesday. In response to a question during the Q&A session, Stephenson said AT&T is in the middle of contract talks with its wireless workforce and has negotiations with its wireline workforce coming up this spring. "We expect that a key issue is going to be healthcare and how we continue to pay for it."

He added that AT&T has been working to modernize what is an "out-dated" system. "We have continued to move the ball forward on that, and we look forward to working with the Communications Workers of America union."
