AT&T to bundle U-verse, VoIP

Tools

AT&T reportedly told Investor's Business Daily that the carrier plans to package VoIP in a bundle with its U-verse IPTV service by the end of this year. This bundle will deal another blow to independent VoIP service providers who won't be able to match that type of bundle.

As a sideline issue, it appears that AT&T's new bundle may result in the retirement of its current CallVantage consumer VoIP service, which the company launched as an apparent "me-too" offering not long after Vonage became popular.
