AT&T CEO: Obama should encourage telecom growth

Tools

AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson called on President-elect Barack Obama to foster policies in office that will encourage investments in the telecom industry and infrastructure. It's a nice thought coming from a company that was a big contributor to John McCain's presidential campaign, though Obama may have a few other industries higher up on his help list when he takes office next month. Still, many observers believe that the Obama administration will take an active interest in telecom, though perhaps not in the way Stephenson might be talking about. However, Stephenson did praise Obama's intent to name a national CTO.

ATT&T along with the other RBOC'S absolutely control the FCC and state PUC/PSC'S. Try fighting them over some law they actually agreed to and watch as they are allowed to violate a law designed to protect you and in fact one which they signed and requested. Employee's well unless they are upper management they could care less. No I never worked for any of them but was their competition and yes cost me plenty to compete which eventually cost me my business. What is it called the Coalition of RBOC'S together they have more power then you can imagine. The FCC can hold them accountable if enough voices are heard. These are cold hard facts!

Yes, we do need change. I feel not only are the AT&T customers mistreated, so are the employees. If injured on the job with AT&T expect to be terminated. They always say in any case written about they did "no wrongdoing." Someone please make AT&T accountable for their actions.

You are so very right!!!
Thank goodness someone finally said what we all think!

AT&T has no right to Obama's ear. They are not able to provide customer service, loose data whenever they decide to "migrate" an account, and treat their customer base as expendable. From all we know about Obama this is the pattern he is opposed to not supportive of. Isn't there another company that could interface with our new President? AT&T treats us exactly as Mr. Bush did and the whole idea is "CHANGE".
