AT&T offers intra-enterprise CDN

Tools

AT&T is offering an enterprise-focused content delivery service that allows companies to create what amounts to an in-house content delivery network for storing and distributing content behind their own firewalls, Network World reports. AT&T's Private Content Distribution Service (PCDS) targets intra-enterprise applications such as video-based job training and corporate Webcasts. Using a service from an outside party like AT&T means that enterprise I.T. departments can outsource the management and monitoring responsibility, while also keeping some content traffic from clogging up their private networks.
