AT&T wants to expand its original content capabilities

Tools

AT&T is serious about being an original content provider, and to prove that commitment, the ILEC is now looking for someone that could help develop original content for TV, the Internet and of course its wireless network.

Based in Los Angeles, the new position will report directly to Dan York, executive vice president of content and programming for U-Verse. According to a company job posting, the content director will "identify, develop, negotiate, produce, and manage original content productions, co-productions and advanced content applications for AT&T's multiple entertainment and communications platforms (television, online, mobile and emerging)."

In addition to being one of the most aggressive U.S. IPTV providers, AT&T is no stranger to content production. Among its original productions are the 2008 Olympics on Demand content as well as content for the Masters Golf tournament.
