Tata joins CDN race with BitGravity deal

India's Tata Communications has engaged in a strategic partnership with BitGravity, a fairly new firm in the increasingly active content delivery network sector. Tata has deployed BitGravity's CDN architecture, and will resell its CDN services. The service provider arrives in the CDN sector as carriers such as Level 3 Communications and AT&T are beginning to challenge the incumbency of firms like Akamai Technologies and Limelight Networks.

Why is AT&T entering into the CDN market such an issue? Look at what TATA is doing. They are wisely picking companies built to meet the CDN market today and not bloated companies like AT&T that have to feed their overhead while they figure it all out. Good for TATA...
