TDS HMS renames itself as OneNeck IT Solutions, unifies managed services brands

TDS (NYSE: TDS) has renamed its growing Hosted & Managed Services (HMS) subsidiary and its related units as OneNeck IT Solutions LLC.

Operating under the OneNeck IT Solutions brand will be VISI Incorporated; TEAM Technologies, LLC; OneNeck IT Services Corporation; Vital Support Systems, L.L.C.; and MSN Communications, Inc.

Telephone and Data Systems, Inc., TDS HMS' parent, acquired all of these companies as a way to establish a larger foothold in the managed services market.

OneNeck will continue to offer its suite of cloud and hosting solutions, colocation services, managed services, ERP management, professional services and IT hardware sales. It also operates four Tier 3 data centers in Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin and manages two Tier 2 data centers in Arizona.

Having a common brand makes sense because it will enable the company to present new and existing customers a united set of managed services and IT solutions vs. a collection of disparate elements.

Heading up OneNeck IT Solutions is Phil LaForge, who came to TDS HMS not long after the telco purchased OneNeck in late 2011.

"The single brand enables us to create a simpler structure that results in less confusion by customers and employees," he said. "Plus, it allows us to develop a consistent approach to facilitate future growth and expansion while delivering the IT solutions our customers need."

Managed services have become a major growth driver for TDS.

In Q3 2013, the telco added 9,000 new managedIP connections and announced the $40 million acquisition of MSN Communications.
