TDS to offer managedIP users second VoIP phone for 1 cent

TDS Telecom is anxious to get more of its business customers to subscribe to its growing managedIP service and is offering businesses that buy a Polycom VVX500 phone to use with their managed service a second phone for a penny.

Over the past two years, TDS Telecom has made a number of moves to enhance its VoIP and managedIP service portfolio.

In order to appeal to its growing base of multisite businesses that have locations inside and outside of its traditional wireline territory, the service provider launched its expanded multi-location VoIP offering in June.

TDS Telecom began building the foundation to deliver this service in 2014 when it established a partnership with Bandwidth.That agreement enabled TDS expand its geographic reach of its VoIP product set and launching a national Remote Teleworker product, to satisfy multisite national enterprise customers.

This new service allows the telco to offer businesses with offices inside and outside of TDS' territory managedIP Hosted and trunking services.

All of these initiatives come at a time when businesses are increasing their adoption of VoIP services. According to Transparency Market Research, the global VoIP services market was valued at $70.9 billion in 2013 and is expected to grow to an estimated $137 billion by 2021, with a subscriber base of about 348.5 million.
