Tech Mahindra still enjoying BT benefits

Telecom companies of all types are increasingly turning to outsourcing firms that can handle everything from product engineering and service creation to network management. Tech Mahindra is one of the major outsourcing provider names that often comes up, and the company has shown how a deep relationship with one major telco can pay big dividends. U.K. telco BT accounts for 62 percent of Tech Mahindra's revenue, and also owns a minority stake in the Indian outsourcing firm, which used to be known under the joint venture name Mahindra-British Telecom.

The company just reported 52 percent growth in net profit for its fiscal first quarter, and also is starting to turn the corner in working with other telcos, such as AT&T, as well as non-telco clients.
