TIA confirms dates for its 2012 Inside the Network show

Grant Seiffert, President of TIA (Telecommunications Industry Association), has made it clear that the association's new show "TIA: Inside the Network" is not another SUPERCOMM. However, the industry organization has confirmed this week that it will hold the event again next year in Dallas from June 5-7, 2012.

Interestingly, the dates of the Inside the Network show will run roughly around the same dates that the legacy SUPERCOMM ran for years.

Moving the show from its May slot to June is likely one to not try to compete with CTIA, which will return to New Orleans for the first time, from May 8-10, 2012, since before Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005 .

By announcing Inside the Network will return next year, TIA is sending a message to likely bolster support for this year's show, but also illustrate that it wants to Inside the Network to be an annual event.

TIA is being realistic about the projected attendance numbers of its Inside the Network event with the expectation that it will draw 3,000 attendees, far lower than what it attracted during the halcyon days of SUPERCOMM in the late 1990s and the early part of this century. Instead, the TIA will try attracting attendees by focusing more on a comprehensive set of educational tracks around technology trend issues that affect telecom service provider spending and service decisions.
