Transport demand fuels Fibernet growth moves

Metro Ethernet operator Fibernet is expanding capacity and capabilities in at least five cities as the company sees growing demand for optical transport capacity. The fiber carrier's native New York City area market is getting a boost to 40 Gbps and other enhancements, while Los Angeles moves to 10 Gbps, and Chicago, San Francisco and Miami all rise to 2.5 Gbps. Fibernet also is boosting native metro Ethernet network core switching capacity by 68 Gbps
