TWC brings video to the SMB

If there's anything that cable operators such as Time Warner Cable can bring to the business market with minimal effort, it would be their bread and butter video service. Time Warner Cable's B2B unit TWC Business Class is tuning into that trend by enhancing its service portfolio, which already includes VoIP and data services, with cable TV service that it will sell to SMBs through its third-party sales agents.

TWC Business Class customers will be able to choose from two cable TV packages: a standard cable TV package with more than 77 channels and a digital video service package that includes hundreds of additional news, entertainment and sports channels. TWC will offer a high-definition version of both packages, but the HD versions require a STB and a HDTV. Similar to its cable MSO brother Cox, TWC believes that the TV services will be leveraged in various scenarios including waiting rooms, private offices, lobby areas, auto dealership customer lounges, medical offices, gyms and employee break rooms.

"The addition of business cable TV gives our agents another high-quality service offering for their customers," said Kurt Fennell, vice president of product management for Time Warner Cable Business Class in an interview with CED.
