USA Datanet targets UC opportunities with channel partner program

USA Datanet, a new subsidiary of Warwick Valley Telephone (WVT) (Nasdaq: WWVY), wants to take advantage of the burgeoning Unified Communications (UC) market by launching a channel partner program.

Leveraging a mix of its own assets and those its parent WVT acquired via its recent purchase of Alteva, USA Datanet's program will offer its master agents, agents and referral partners a UC Sales Certification training program, educational webinars, training guides, marketing materials, and regional networking events.

Seeing that much of the cloud services industry is focused on providing services to large enterprise users, USA Datanet's channel partner drive is part of a broader initiative the service provider is taking to target SMBs that have 35 employees and below.

From a WVT perspective, the new channel program is the first element of the independent telco's move to integrate USA Datanet with Alteva. In this case, USA Datanet will be able to learn and build off of Alteva's existing channel experience.

"One of the advantages of selling USA Datanet's VoIP and UC solution is that it allows the channel community to bring hosted capabilities and features to the small business community that were previously only available to larger corporations," said Louis Hayner, chief sales officer of WVT and its wholly owned subsidiaries Alteva and USA Datanet in a release announcing the program. "Alteva has had great success with its channel base and we wanted to utilize Alteva's channel experience and techniques to help USA Datanet build its channel."

Overseeing the channel managers involved in the new channel program will be existing USA Datanet sales managers David DeNapoli and Bob Sederstand.
