Verizon Business leads Infonetics VoIP matrix

Infonetics Research has created a VoIP market leadership matrix identifying the top 10 IP Centrex service providers and top nine IP connectivity providers in North America, and Verizon Business has landed atop both categories in something of a surprise sweep. The tally was based on a variety of factors, including number of IP Centrex subscribers and/or installed base of IP connectivity lines/trunks, but also financial stability--a key delineator in the still somewhat shaky VoIP market--and other factors.

New Global Telecom finished as runner-up in the IP Centrex category, and Cbeyond finished second in IP connectivity. Comcast also was mentioned as an up-and-comer in the hosted VoIP services segment of IP Centrex.
