Verizon Business simplifies international billing

Tools

Verizon Business is just one of a multitude of carriers chasing the business of multinational enterprise firms, and offering the right connectivity package is just part of the battle. To get closer to those customers, you need to make life easier for enterprise executives, and to that end, Verizon Business has announced Global Billing Report. The offering allows corporate execs whose companies do business throughout the world to have simplified access to comprehensive information about what their companies are spending on voice, data and other telecom services in different countries and in at least nine different currencies. The online GBR tool is available at no additional charge.

A key aspect of the GBR is Verizon's unified data output format--VZ-450--for all billing systems. It is something Verizon would not have been able to offer in this form without pursuing a billing transformation project that helped the carrier consolidate formats. That should serve as inspiration for telcos that have tackled similar projects in the past, only to see them fall by the wayside.
