Verizon Business unveils new cloud capabilities

The cloud computing market continues to gather strength and build toward a competitive storm, with Verizon Business announcing at Interop in Las Vegas this week (remember Interop?) that it is launching several new cloud-based capabilities for customers of its private IP networking services. The new offerings include Asset Assurance fault management, monitoring and reporting tools; an enhanced Internet Security Assessment service; and new managed security capabilities.

The Asset Assurance software-as-a-service offering uses vendor CA's Spectrum Infrastructure Manager to support all of the monitoring and reporting functions, and evolves from the wide area network monitoring that CA already supported for Verizon.
