Verizon hires top security executive

Verizon Communications has hired a network security expert who had served on President Bush's National Security Council as high-ranking security officer in the company. Marcus Sachs also has worked with the Department of Homeland Security. Telcos obviously have been making major moves into managed security services, and Verizon has been among the most aggressive with acquisitions, new services and vendor partnerships.
