Verizon looks to stop voicemail lawsuit

Tools

Verizon Communications and Verizon Wireless have asked the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of New York to dismiss a lawsuit filed about two weeks ago that claimed the company had infringed on a patent for visual voicemail. The lawsuit was filed by Klausner Technologies, operated by Judah Klausner. The firm has sued other companies, such as Apple and AT&T over the patent issue (the iPhone being among the first devices to have visual voicemail), and these cases reportedly ended in settlements. Several published reports late Tuesday said that Klausner also filed patent lawsuits against several other firms.
