Verizon moves to one customer help number

Tools

Verizon Communications has consolidated as many as 100 different customer service phone numbers it has used around the country to serve its wireline customers into just one national help line: 1-800-VERIZON. The company uses some behind-the-scenes network knitting to enable a customer to call the national line, but be routed directly to the nearest customer service center. Could some further consolidation of actual customer service operation be looming? You always have to ask that question with anything related to landlines these days.
