Vonage must pay Verizon $117.5 million

The U.S. Court of Appeals turned down Vonage's request for an appeal in its patent lawsuit from Verizon Communications, meaning Vonage must pay Verizon the full $117.5 million in damages that resulted from the initial district court ruling. Vonage and Verizon had earlier struck a deal under which Vonage would have paid Verizon only $80 million if the request to hear the appeal was accepted.
