Wilcon wraps up dark fiber build for Los Angeles Center Studios

Wilcon, a Southern California-based competitive provider, has put the final touches on a new fiber optical network for Los Angeles Center Studios.

The new network will be used to deliver high-capacity data services for its growing base of media and entertainment tenants.

Besides dark fiber, the new network also includes a suite of lit services, including up to 10 Gbps circuits.

Jon DeLuca, CEO of Wilcon, said that the network can "provide transport capabilities from Los Angeles Center Studios to all major locations throughout Southern California."

Southern California is a growing target for Wilcon.

In August it expanded its reach into the region by acquiring fellow fiber provider Freedom Dark Fiber Networks. Through that deal, Wilcon gained an additional 3,000 route miles, providing access to almost 1,000 additional buildings, wireless towers, data centers and other Internet hubs.
