Will Qwest analyst event pack any surprises?

Tools

Qwest Communications is holding its first analyst day event in more than six years today in New York City, but the analysts are not expecting many surprises, if any. Qwest CEO Ed Mueller and CFO John Richardson will be the lead presenters in what has been promised as an outlining of Qwest's strategy. Mueller has been at Qwest since last summer, and though his lack of big statements early on had some people fidgeting in their seats, he did make a couple of crowd-pleasing moves recently, such as implementing a dividend for the first time in several years. One area where many analysts would like to see new strategic movement is in wireless, and Mueller has acknowledged that the currently wireless-less Qwest needs to review its options. Could a new partnership be on tap?
