Halpin

According to a company announcement, Kevin Halpin was named senior VP of process development and improvement, where he will work with business leaders across the telco to enhance the customer experience.

Halpin, a 20-year telecom industry veteran, brings plenty of experience to his new role.

Previously, he served as VP of information technology for Allied Wireless Communications, where he helped oversee over a five-year period the buildout of the information technology infrastructure to support Allied Wireless' acquisition of Alltel Wireless customers and their later migration to AT&T, which purchased the assets in September 2013. Earlier, he served as VP of process development for Alltel Corp. from 2004 to 2008, where he designed the company's strategic planning process to improve the customer experience.

Moody

Windstream also named nine-year company veteran Kristi Moody as it new senior VP of law and corporate secretary for the board of directors.

Moody will provide counsel for a number of Windstream's key functions, including corporate governance, securities law compliance, investor relations, capital markets, treasury, external communications and corporate development, in her expanded role in the legal organization. She also will retain oversight of dispute resolution and contingencies.

Since joining Windstream in 2006 as the telco's senior litigation counsel, she has quickly risen through the company ranks. In 2012, she was named vice president of law in 2012 and deputy general counsel in 2013. Before joining Windstream, Moody was in private practice for 11 years at Wright, Lindsey & Jennings LLP.

These appointments come as Windstream begins a new chapter under Tony Thomas, the president of the company's real estate investment trust (REIT) and former CFO, who took over the CEO role from Jeff Gardner in December.
