Windstream taps Integra veteran Harding to lead marketing for enterprise business

Windstream has taken another step forward with realigning its top management team by naming Joseph Harding as its new EVP and CMO for its enterprise business.

Set to begin on Feb. 16, Harding will oversee all aspects of marketing for Windstream's enterprise business unit, including the go-to-market strategy, lead generation, product roadmap, pricing and customer insight and brand management.

Harding is probably best known for his tenure at Integra, where he served as the CLEC's CMO for four years. A 20-year telecom industry veteran, Harding held senior leadership positions at Level 3 in product development and management, customer experience strategy, business process management and e-commerce from 1998 to 2011. He began his telecom career at MCI, now Verizon Business, in 1993 as a marketing manager in the business markets division.

His appointment at Windstream comes at a transitional time for both Windstream and Integra.

Windstream has been in the process of spinning off its wireline assets into a real estate investment trust (REIT). As part of that process, CEO Jeff Gardner resigned in December and was replaced by Tony Thomas, president of the company's REIT and former CFO.

For its part, Integra also has been going through a transformation. Following the departure of CEO Kevin O'Hara in September, the service provider announced in January that it was revamping the Electric Lightwave brand while creating another group dedicated to mid-market customers in order to enhance its identity with large business customers.
