Wireless operators may be continually expanding their networks to support a host of data-centric applications, but according to a new Strategy Analytics study commissioned by Tellabs (Nasdaq: TLAB), they are shortchanging their backhaul investments. On a global basis, the wireless industry will have a backhaul gap of about $9.2 billion by the year 2017. Asia Pacific, in particular, will see the largest investment gap of $5.3 billion by 2017, while North America will see the smallest gap of about $650 million. Article
