XO appoints CDW exec Shane McNamara as new channel leader

XO (OTC BB: XOHO) is enhancing its channel program by appointing CDW executive Shane McNamara as its new VP of indirect sales, replacing the spot left open by Brian Law, who left XO in April to become an entrepreneur.

In his new role at XO, McNamara will simultaneously lead XO's Business Partner program and oversee the company's indirect sales strategy through its network of agents, partners and value added resellers.

McNamara is the third person to fill this role in less than a year. Following the departure of Jim Delis, who lead XO's channel business for five years, Law assumed the VP of indirect services role last February.

Interestingly, McNamara has sat on both side of the channel coin as both a channel partner and as a channel executive. Before leading up CDW's carrier division, McNamara served as Global Crossing's (Nasdaq: GLBC) director of sales and marketing indirect channel, where he helped build and grow the channel business.

"With more than 14 years of sales experience in the telecommunications industry, Shane is a seasoned indirect channel sales leader and known entity among our valuable partners in the indirect channel in the telecommunications industry," said Mike Toplisek, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Business Services at XO Communications.

McNamara brings a strong record with him to XO. During his tenure at CDW, McNamara led the company's indirect sales to carriers and service providers and successfully grew its indirect channel sales business by more than 40 percent over the last three years.
