XO gives 1-800-Registry a path to cloud services
XO Communications on Wednesday won a deal to provide 1-800-Registry, a provider of wedding planning, honeymoon travel and non-traditional registry services, a Hosted PBX and Cloud Contact Center solution.
By handing off its communications functions to XO's cloud service, 1-800-Registry gets the dual benefits of reducing costs and simplifying communications by not having to manage and maintain on-site PBXs, servers and other equipment.
"A key advantage of the integrated Hosted PBX and Cloud Contact Center solution from XO Communications for us is that it required no capital expenditure and helped lower operational costs," said John Bamforth, chief technology officer at 1-800-Registry, in a release about the deployment. "But its best benefits are reliability and we don't have to manage it because XO does that for us."
As a result of putting its communications functions into the cloud, the online company said it will be able to focus more on its core business.
With an emphasis on helping couples with their wedding and honeymoon planning, 1-800-Registry said the XO service will help it provide better customer service while adjusting to unexpected spikes in demand for its services from customers.
Since XO's Hosted PBX and Concentric Cloud Contact Center solutions are still relatively new, this customer win is much needed validation for the CLEC.
