Zayo to acquire interconnect firm FiberNet

Zayo Group, the Colorado-based fiber network operator that has been on a tear buying up similar regionally-focused network operators the last couple of years, is buying yet another company. This time, Zayo has agreed to acquire FiberNet Telecom Group, which offers colocation and interconnection services to other network operators, for almost $88 million. However, until June 17, FiberNet has the right to accept better offers. Otherwise, the deal is expected to close in the third quarter.
