Zayo acquires AtlantaNAP data center, expands data center footprint to 28 locations

Zayo announced its acquisition of Atlanta data center and managed services provider AtlantaNAP, a purchase that will expand its data center count to 28 locations.

By purchasing AtlantaNAP, Zayo gains more than 72,000 square feet of total data center space, including 42,000 square feet of conditioned colocation space.

Located at 1100 White St. SW, AtlantaNAP complements Zayo's 600-plus route mile Atlanta fiber network. The Atlanta colocation facility is connected to most major carrier hotels and data centers via high-count and diverse fiber rings, providing customers with access to Zayo's suite of lit bandwidth services and access to Zayo's metro and long-haul dark fiber backbones.

Following its acquisition of Dallas-based colocation provider CoreXchange in March, the addition of 1100 White St. SW expands Zayo's national data center footprint to more than 570,000 square feet.

Other than saying it was funded with cash on hand, Zayo did not reveal financial details of the deal.

Growing through acquisitions has been an ongoing theme for Zayo. The service provider reported in its fiscal year third quarter revenue of $278 million, up 6 percent sequentially due to a mix of organic growth related to new customer installations and acquisition-related growth.
