Zayo enhances Ireland expansion with data center provider Interxion

Zayo has taken another step forward in its expansion into Ireland by signing an agreement with carrier-neutral colocation provider Interxion, which will serve as the first site in its newly expanded long-haul European network.

Zayo recently announced expansion across Europe, which will be conducted throughout the first half of 2015. In January, Zayo announced that it was extending its long haul network into Dublin, Ireland, and three new cities in the UK.

Through this network expansion effort, Interxion's customers in Ireland will be able to get high speed links into a number of major UK-based cities and into Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Paris and cities in 45 states in the U.S. via Zayo's existing global routes. What's more, customers will have access to wavelength services of up to 100G and the opportunity to use Zayo's full portfolio of services.

Another key element of this agreement is that Interxion's customers will be able to use Zayo's Tranzact platform to quickly order direct links between Interxion Dublin and a number of public cloud services.

"This agreement will enable us to provide services to a wider customer base and continue to support the mission critical services our customers demand," said Alastair Kane, European vice president for Zayo, in a release. "Through our recent network expansion we are able to support Interxion's customers in gaining the maximum benefit from public cloud services and connections to hundreds of locations globally."
