Zayo launches online portal to ease service ordering process

Zayo is giving its customers another way to ease the service ordering process with the release of its Tranzact portal.

Now in the first stage of testing, the new portal is available to a limited set of current Zayo customers. The service provider said that Tranzact will be used as a trial before a broader release in Q1 2014.

Current and new customers will be able to get real-time price quotes, place orders, view service inventory and view pending transactions for Zayo's suite of products including Ethernet, IP, wavelengths, dark fiber and private line services.

A designated set of specialists, who can answer questions and complete service quotes, will support the Tranzact portal.

To accommodate multi-site business customers, Zayo will provide access to its own 75,000-mile fiber network and on-net buildings. It will also enable them to obtain quotes for services to off-net buildings near its network.

The debut of Tranzact comes at a time when Zayo continues to build out its on-net building and overall fiber reach through a series of acquisitions of other regional fiber providers, including most recently Fiberlink.
